So FILMS

so. so what? so let’s do cinema.

about us

So FILMS is a Poland-based distribution and publicity company, distinguished by its fresh, hands-on approach to sales, marketing, and PR. Our team brings nearly a decade of industry experience, working closely with producers, distributors, and film festivals across both local and international markets.

We are dedicated to discovering high-quality, auteur-driven cinema for theatrical distribution and beyond. Genre is not a defining factor — we simply need to fall in love with a film. We strongly believe that cinema should first and foremost be experienced on the big screen.

Besides regular distribution activity in Poland, we specialize in festival launches and comprehensive publicity strategies, supporting films from their world premieres throughout their full festival lifecycle and into distribution. We offer a wide range of promotional services and ensure consistent, strategic communication across all stages of a film’s journey.

Our distribution catalogue includes titles such as The Chronology of Water, Mother, Left-Handed Girl, Flow, Letters From Wolf Street, In the Rearview, Silent Trees, Flow, Little Amélie, Angel’s Egg, the David Lynch Collection, Oscar-Nominated Shorts, and others.

We collaborate closely with leading Polish production companies, including Aurum Film, providing end-to-end PR and distribution support.

Our recent work includes handling international publicity, social media, and digital campaigns for:

The Guest — at IDFA and Visions du Réel (So FILMS received the Polish Film Institute Award for the promotion of Polish cinema abroad for IDFA campaign)

Letters From Wolf Street — at Berlinale

Candidates of Death — at Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival

The Queen and the Smokehouse — at FIPADOC

We also led the Oscar campaign for the Polish documentary In the Rearview, coordinating its festival strategy and global communication (over 100 festivals and an Oscar shortlist). For these efforts, we received a nomination for the Polish Film Institute Award for the promotion of Polish cinema abroad. We were also actively involved in the film’s production process and handled its theatrical distribution in Poland. We also represented the film at major festivals such as Cannes, Sheffield, TIFF, IDFA, and CPH:DOX.

At So FILMS, we are driven by a strong curatorial instinct. We work with films we deeply believe in and approach each project with a tailored, strategic mindset, ensuring strong visibility, consistency, and impact across all platforms and territories.

Flow

The most recent endeavors of the company’s distribution branch include Flow, an Oscar winner and an absolute darling of the animation world, approaching 200 000 admissions! The slate also features documentaries by renowned Polish filmmakers that have been showcased at international festivals, a collection of restored David Lynch films and other cinematic gems.

Thinking outside the box, we promise to take great care of all the films we represent.
